Sweetie’s Art Bar is a classic North Beach gathering place, featuring both permanent artwork and monthly art exhibits by local artists, special events, a pool table, juke box and a full bar.
Permanent artwork is an integral part of the visually lively environment at Sweetie’s, featuring the artwork and craft of painter/sculptor Julius Hatofsky, sculptors Richard Berger and David Ng, and painters Eveni Levi, Flicka McGurrin, Ryan Blanchard, and Richard Whalen.
With an ambiance both creative and neighborhood friendly, Sweetie’s Art Bar boasts a special events room with back deck and professional kitchen, two party alcoves, a North Beach bar, and billiards room. The San Francisco Art Institute is up the hill, and Fisherman’s Wharf is down two blocks.
Sweetie’s Art Bar has participated in North Beach First Fridays openings since 2010 celebrating the work of photographers Blaine Ellis, Nick Wadler, Dennis Hearne, Lei Levi, and Heidi McGurrin, collage painters Nicolette Smith and Pamela Pitt, poets Jim Nesbit and Tom Raworth, and painters Yasmin Lambie-Simpson, Flicka McGurrin, Ryan “Whisky Pills” Blanchard, Meighan Leibert, Michael and Jon Wolf, Frances Valesco, and Linda Walgren.
